Dr. M. Ayaz Naseem and Dr. Adeela Arshad-Ayaz are hosting the 2nd International Symposium on Teaching about Extremism, Terror, and Trauma. What is radicalization? What can educators do about it? The symposium is on April 14-16 at the Department of Education, Concordia University, Faubourg Building, 1610 Ste-Catherine West, Montreal, QC, H3G 1M8.  This year’s symposium aims to provide an intellectual space for scholarship focused on the phenomenon of ‘Radicalization of Youth’ in post 9/11 context, and the role education can play in addressing the phenomenon. There are three sub-themes that engage with the broader conference theme. (1) What is radicalization? The debate. (2) What radicalizes? (3) How can education contribute to prevention and de-radicalization? For program details, see http://www.tett.ca/program.html
